  2. Wearable Devices: Wearable devices have a huge demand in almost all the global markets around the world. In order to fulfil this demand and capture the largest number of customers, juggernauts like Samsung and Google are trying their best to develop new models and versions of popular wearable devices that make use of IoT platform. These devices have software and are installed with sensors, which help in the collection of information and data pertaining to the user. Internet of Things technology later helps to process the data so that logical insights and other essential information are extracted by the user. These devices are commonly used for the purpose of health, fitness and entertainment. There are few limitations when it comes to wearable devices using Internet of Things, which are as follows:-

  1. Smart Cars: The digital automotive technology has decided to join hands with IoT platforms and optimize the internal operations of automobiles. These enhanced cars will be called connected cars and they will be able to optimize their own moderation, comfort level of all passengers and maintenance with the help of Internet Connectivity and onboard sensors. A large number of companies have already started working in this direction and providing remarkable contributions in this regard. They are trying their best to bring about a striking revolution in the automobile industry.
  2. Industrial Internet of Things- A new term called IIoT has been coined, which stands for Industrial Internet of Things. This technology is primarily focused on the industrial sector and all its developments. With the help of software, sensors and big data analytics, great machines can be built, which reduce the cost of labour and increase productivity. The machines will be made more proficient with data as compared to humans and will drastically improve the efficiency of the entire sector. It also has immense potential for sustainability and quality control.

The efficiency of supply chains can also be increased by building applications that will track goods and exchange relevant information about the retailers and inventories. A recent report concluded that the use of IoT platforms in the development of industries will increase its productivity from 10 trillion dollars to 14 trillion dollars in GDP globally in a span of another 15 years. 

  1. Agriculture- With increase in population, a lot of crisis was experienced in major sectors around the world. One such sector, which needs attention and proper development, is agriculture. Government is now helping farmers to boost food production so that the global demand for food can be met. In order to make sure that food production never decreases, a technique called smart farming, which makes use of IOT technology, is used. Farmers make use of insights, which are collected from abundant amount of data. These insights help farmers to yield a much better return on investments that are made. Some of the most common uses of Internet of Things in agriculture are sensing the amount of nutrients and moisture in the soil, controlling the usage of water for the growth of plants and determining the fertilizers used for custom usage.

According to a Gartner report, the number of devices connected to Internet of Things will become 1.0 trillion by the year 2025 and there will be almost no field that will not get influenced by it.
